A reason
A three-step plan. It works in any city — with or without an activity on the map.
Pick a group class for beginners and check the price.
Before any partner work, ask whether the contact feels fine. Taking part is always optional.
After class, talk over the funniest moment with some water or tea.
If you come on your own
In beginners’ group classes partners usually rotate, so there’s no need to bring one. Check with the school in advance.
First line
So the chat doesn’t stop at “hi”.
To one person
Here’s an idea: a salsa class for beginners. If we get lost in the steps, we’ll call it our signature style.
To a group chat
Going to an open beginners’ salsa class — who’s coming? No experience needed; a sense of rhythm is handed out at the door.
Invite
An invitation link: they pick a time and answer in a couple of taps.
The reply comes to you as a message — the site never sees it.
Meet safely
For this idea
Wear comfortable shoes with smooth soles and bring water. You can skip any partner move — “I’ll sit this one out” is enough.
Before any meeting
- Meet somewhere public the first time — and in daylight, if that feels calmer.
- Plan your own way there and back. There is no need to share your home address.
- Let someone close know where you will be and who with: send them the plan.
If you go as a group
- A group class suits a group: partners often rotate, so by the end of the evening everyone has met everyone.
- Agree in advance how everyone is getting home — especially if the evening ends late.
Talk
Three questions from the “Honestly?” deck. Any of them can be skipped.
Which song can you never sit still through?
Which activity turned out better than you expected?
What gives you the courage to start something new?
If you want more
The next reason to meet, in a different mood.
